HOLY COW!! The base of this one is 18 inches across! I was lucky enough to find this
wild piece with some of the root mass still attached which created this wild
forked bell. Though I generally eschew voluminous bells myself, this one does
not create undue boom or honk that annhiliates the other sound complexities. I
believe this is because of the fork, as it is not an enclosed bell shape.
It is a fantastic powerful punchy player with solid backpressure, good sensitivity
and room to move when pushed. Great tonal balance with strong bass, lots
of power, growl and great projection. Black Sun/Star motif, paua shell inlay
and high gloss finish. |

Some of my Aspen, hardwood and agave instruments have a special treatment that
creates a darker more natural "woody" tone compared to the usual bright sound
of an epoxied bore Click for more info about the Dark Bore Sound |

Lightweight and resonant yet more slender taper makes for a deep sounding didge that
retains good definition. Medium solid backpressure with easy rhythmic
quality which can also easily be pushed into more agressive growl. Easy rapid
fire toots. Stained with a grey/black wash which allows the more prominent woodgrain
to show through, satin finish, paua shell inlay and natural satin finish
wood mouthpiece. |

Cadillac of trad-ish F sharps. Powerful, fat, warm, deep character with sublime backpressure
and great bass. Easy playing yet you can also lay into this one with
lots of reserve power. Also has enough rough edge for good response to trad style
tongue motions with excellent deep "dith" pop. Slightly more open mouthpiece
than most I make in this pitch range. Great for both trad-ish and contemporary
punchy rhythmic styles. Red ochre stained ends, paua shell inlay and high gloss
finish. A beauty! |

octave toot transition, good depth and bass and easy vocals. Paua inlay,

maple/russianolive m110401 Key: F#, overtone F# Length: 56.25 Bell size: 5.5 Mouthpiece: 1 1/8" Weight: 7 lb 6 oz Price: $450 |

Solid, solid, solid instrument. Fairly tight top end gives solid to high backpressure
and lots of punch. Direct tight growly sound yet not harsh or overly gritty.
Slightly boxy sound quality due to the bell shape. Very easy octave toot. Russian
olive neck section is tenoned into the maple above and below for extremely
strong construction. Paua shell inlay, smooth satin finish. |
